The Soviets invaded Afghanistan in December of 1979 until their leave in February of 1989. Following recent rise in political tension and targeted skirmishes, the Russian Government has decided to approve a special invasion force to put down the Mujahideen for good. You serve as a member of the 22nd Independent Special Purpose Detachment "Phoenix", supported by the 118th Motor Rifle Battalion, 41st Tank Battalion, and the 72nd Artillery Battalion. You are the tip of the spear that makes or breaks the outcome of this invasion force. The Kremlin demands results and will not make the same mistakes the West did.
Primary focus: Break the motorized battalion out of its stalled advance.
