BFT uses two controller combos: hold D-pad Right and press Cross for TALON (it comes from WD Core), and tap D-pad Left + Triangle to lase. Everything else is a button on TALON's BFT TOOLS tab, because none of it needs you to aim.
Lase is a tap: press both and let go. Holding D-pad Left + Triangle is the game's own way to dismiss a hint, and a hold never lases.
Want a button of your own for something? Settings, Controls, WD Warhawk BFT lists every BFT action with a Controller column. Typing /bft works on any device.
